“I have followed Jon Flaming’s artwork for almost a decade now and collected works (paintings and sculptures) from his different artistic periods. Each period is unique yet cohesive with the previous period and each demonstrates his exceptional ability as an artist. Rarely does an artist exhibit such consistent quality as Jon has over the years. I look forward to his next show.” – Russell Tether, Russell Tether Fine Art, Dallas, Texas

“Jon is one of those special people that sees what the rest of us do not until he shows it to us. He has the uncanny knack of making something simple yet deep all at the same time. His paintings evoke an emotion of something we all remember somewhere or sometime in our lives. I have had Jon as a part of our team as our design person for branding. He has created many great logos for our different projects. All that said, he is even a better person than he is an artist, which is probably why is art is so great.” Brett Johnston, CEO, Urbana Communities

“Jon has single handedly transformed our company brand "The Paper People." He not only is a talented and fine artist, but he is a strategic thinker as well. We are very fortunate to have Jon Flaming in our community!” Don Clampitt, CEO, Clampitt Paper Company

“Dallas’s Jon Flaming documents rural Texas subjects utilizing classic regionalist style. His composition and subject matter bear comparison to those of the greatest of Texas regionalists including Everett Spruce, William Lester, Florence McClung or Alexandre Hogue.” – William Reaves, William Reaves Fine Art, Houston, Texas

“Jon Flaming is a great young artist whose abstracted representations of the Texas scene are colorful and painterly. His choice of subject matter is engaging, his compositions are elegant; and his regionalist style is reminiscent of the best from a bygone era. Like the regionalists working before him, Jon still sees farmers, ranch hands and tool pushers as subjects worthy of fine art.  His pulse is attuned to meandering scenic back roads and his eye records the character and dignity of old farms strewn along the way. His paintings tell a Texas story.” William Reaves, William Reaves Fine Art, Houston, Texas

Jon’s design and illustration work is wonderful, but it was his fine art that captured my heart. I am a big fan of some of the Texas artists of the early to mid century, and while Jon admires and respects these same artists, he definitely has his own style. Jon captures the spirit of small towns in Texas as well as the culture and personality of the people. His figurative paintings remind me of another favorite Texas artist, David Bates, but Jon has his own definitive style. His bold strokes and use of rich color draw me to his work. His subtle comment on life and culture are found in the painting as well as his titles. I have since had the opportunity to see Jon's work at the 2008 Cherry Spring festival and to meet his cute wife, Kathy. She is equally as engaging and interesting as Jon and I hope to see them again this spring. Jon is as gracious and generous as he is talented. Not long after I met him, I was on the art acquisition committee for a fundraiser for my daughter's school and called him to ask for a small donation for our event. He gladly donated a beautiful painting and it was all I could do not to bid on it myself and bring it home with me! Ann Williams, author – Hill Country House blog
