A few months ago, I was travelling north up in Anna, Texas when I spotted some old buildings again near the railroad. I say again because I’d been here about 15 years ago with our 3 children when they were younger. I used to take them on scrounging trips where we would go out in the country or rural Texas and see what we could scrounge up. - On one particular trip years ago, we scrounged up this old general store in Anna. It was closed up, but we decided to take a closer look. Peering through the large windows, we could see that this place was nicely preserved. All the shelves were filled with merchandise of all kinds just like they would have been many years ago. There was an old man inside who saw us peeking curiously through the glass. He came to the door and asked us to come in. - we entered and he began to tell us about the old store and how it had been in his family for several generations. It was wonderful and we enjoyed hearing everything he had to share. We visited for about half an hour and then left. Next door to the general store was the funeral parlor and the garage where the old horse drawn hearses were kept. - The carriages were still there, and just like the general store, gathering lots of dust.
